295 days till Bush is out of office - not soon enough!

Welcome to my updated and improved web site -
(all web sites are a work in progress)
please forgive the mess!

Along the Rio Grande valley’s back roads, from Horizon City, Tx to Albuquerque and all points in between - I travel and take photos of the local areas, events, people and seasons. They may or may not include a story line with each picture, but will offer at least a visual tour of the area. As the owner/designer of this site, I live in El Paso, Texas, where dust is a southwest accent - if you don’t like the dust - don’t move here! When one is in the process of “dusting” which generally means collecting the dust and lint bunnies - here its just moving the dust from one point to another. But ... when its clear with blue skies and soft gentle breezes, its actually quite beautiful here.

Skip on through the various buttons on the left of the screen, and peruse at your leisure. You will also find my personal art gallery. I am a Graphic Arts Illustrator, educated in the fine arts, (UTEP and El Paso Community College) and a professional in business.

The various pieces of art work you will see are merely samples of my work from the last several years. I’ve been a member of several online art groups, featuring different ideas and purposes - holidays, greetings, announcements, celebrations, but all are interesting. If you are interested in learning more about these online art groups, please contact me by email to: Lduke@elp.rr.com

Along the way, I am planning some new ideas of art work to be shown at the local art shows later in the year. Hope that if you are in the area, you will stop by - as I announce when I will show my work on this site.

The Yucca - my favorite southwestern cactus plant - shared only with New Mexico and Mexico. Every Spring, a stalk appears out of the center. Days later there are small wisps of green growing from the stalk. The wisps grow into hard, smooth blooms. In the end the stalk falls off and we wait until the next Spring to see it all over again. Some Yucca will have more than one stalk when and if the yucca gets more water - it sprouts a new stalk.  This particular Yucca is at the Shell Station on N. Mesa, between Belvedere and Remcon.
